Guanacaste Fishing, in the northwester corner of Costa Rica (Tamarindo beach and gulf of Papagayo region) has no specific season, however species are more prevalent during some periods, quantities caught of every one specie depend on season. Although we have excellent fishing year 'round, our peak seasons are April-August and November-March.

From March thru August there is a high pick fishing season in this area, as fishing takes place in the nearby Catalina and Bat islands or in front of Tamarindo beach, often only a ten minutes boat running in search many places very rocky and deep bottom where yuo can do excelent fishing of course if you are taken with you bait, your captain will stop in some where top catch the bait that yuo guys will need for your good fishing. Hamber Jack, Cuveras, snappers, groupers and differents more species, or maybe your captain could give you the choice of a Guanacaste Fishing for rooster. On full day fishing in Tamarindo we move offshore in search of large Mahi, tuna, sailfish and marlin just choise your boat.

From December thru April is the "high season" tourist-wise, this is also the very succefull season for the bottom fishing due at the coold water, it mekes a lot of fish arrive to this area. Our charter for full day run around 30-45 minutes to reach first spots to find nice and calm waters which are protected from the wind by the mountains. This area also are available to hosts Mahi-Mahi, wahoo, tuna and sailfish during this time of year. There is no particular "season" as regards what species are available.

Cuvera (snappers):BOTTOM FISHING: fishing in Guanacaste This fish is offen found on deep water,the bottom usely is rocks and mud, good bottom conditions for cuvera sanpper, tehy feed specialy abot squid and shrimp, close to Catalinas and Bat islands, where you can get deeper bottom with colder water and more courrent who brings more food, you will have the good chance to enjoy your dreamed big and fighter fish.

Inshore Fishing in Guanacaste
