Papagayo Fishing is a family business dedicated to sport fishing in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, since 2010. We are in the heart of the Gulf of Papagayo, a place with beautiful people to visit in Guanacaste.

We own some of our boats and are also tour operators for sport fishing and other ocean activities. Our job has always been working as fishermen in Gulf of Papagayo; For years, we have worked in various ocean-related activities.
About Captain Jose Mendez in Playas del Coco.
My Dedication: In 2000, I worked for various hotel companies as a dive boat captain. Three years later, I became a certified PADI Dive Master in Rescue Diving. Years later, when tourism in Costa Rica was beginning to grow, I acquired a boat and started my own business from scratch. It was an uphill struggle, but it has been a blessing from God to this day, and I feel satisfied with our achievements and with my family. Now, sport fishing and making a living from my business, primarily through tourism—foreigners—are our careers, acquired through years of perseverance.
