Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing is another technique for many anglers while are staying in Guanacaste, this can be done on inshore/Offshore. Some species can be caught, as; Big eye jack, Bonita, Rooster fish, sailfish, magi-magi and many others.
We have a specific Fishing Season in Guanacaste to practice Fly Fishing, you can do it the all year around but, you may consider this; some months, from April until December have better weather conditions due to it is rainy season and these months present quiet conditions on the surface of the Gulf Papagayo.
Trying to fly fishing is a challenge when an Offshore for a Sailfish, if you are trying to do it in the months of Jan, till March, due the weather conditions are usually not the best in Gulf of Papagayo; during these months, we typically use conventional reels and trolling bill fish and mahimahi, but trying Fly Fishing; the effort is definitely worth it.
Doing Fly fishing for different kinds of fish near the coast, is more successful when trying for Bonita and Big Jack eye, along with other species as Roosterfish that can be a lot of fun when the weather conditions are optimal in the bays of the shoreline of Guanacaste.
Fly fishing equipment must be brought by you, as we are unable to provide it. Our crew will provide guidance and full support on the fishing trip.
